Second Harvest Heartland’s mission is to end hunger through community partnerships. They distribute more than 51 million pounds of food and grocery products annually to nearly 1,000 food shelves, soup kitchens, shelters and programs in Minnesota and Western Wisconsin.
Second Harvest Heartland focuses on strong results, innovation and thought leadership to accomplish the following:
- Steward food, volunteer time and donations carefully through efficient operations and continually challenging ourselves to make resources work harder.
- Tap into a vast network to find new sources of donated food; including fresh, nutritious produce from an ever-expanding network of growers, food manufacturers and processors.
- Partner with others using hunger-related data to foster community conversations and solutions to solve hunger.
